A better focus: Adobe technology brings new life to BI dashboards

Business intelligence software supplier Information Builders has harnessed Adobe Flex technology to create an environment that allows for incorporating animation and other interactive features into BI dashboards.
Information Builders calls its new offering WebFOCUS FLEX Enable. It combines the capabilities of the Information Builders WebFOCUS BI platform with the Adobe Flash technology to give developers and analysts the ability to easily deliver rich Internet applications (RIA) for business intelligence.
Information Builders has coined the term “flashboards” to describe the new generation of interactive BI consoles that can be developed with this solution.

Adobe Flex is the leading integrated development environment for interactive applications. Flex-based RIAs combine the speed of desktop applications with the agility of the Web and have become ubiquitous. In fact, industry experts predict that 60 percent of Web applications soon will be RIA.
Cohen says WebFOCUS FLEX Enable delivers stunning data representations so users can focus on the most relevant details, follow trends, and transform data into a newscast-like experience. The solution comes with 30 custom components and will work with any current or future version of WebFOCUS.
