ARC names Pitney Bowes top logistics supplier

The Distribution Solutions division of Pitney Bowes is among the top five leading suppliers of logistics management solutions, so says a supply chain execution (SCE) worldwide outlook study by Dedham, Mass.-based ARC Advisory Group. The $4.6 billion-company came in the No. 3 vendor of SCE solutions in North America, and was cited a leading supplier in the discrete manufacturing, distribution, and retail sectors.

The ARC market rollup study contains various type market data—e.g., for transportation management systems, or TMS—taken from other studies. In Pitney Bowes' case, ARC attributed the supplier's strength in SCE to a large share of the parcel shipping software market, with software installed at 13,000+ sites.

"Transportation management systems for discrete industries are on track to be the fastest-growing area in the supply chain management application," says Johanna Boller, director of product management for Pitney Bowes. "Pitney Bowes is in great position to tap into this growing market with its multicarrier order processing and shipment management system, PB TMS."
