Customized awareness: Services provider creates “Safety Culture” for industrial environments

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 9/17/2008 11:35:00 AM

Creating a completely safe workplace will only prevent 15 percent of potential accidents; the other 85 percent comes from implementing behavioral-based safety training to prevent unsafe acts. Pearson Safety Services (PSS) has solutions to prevent injuries and fatal accidents in the workplace. Offerings include risk management assessment; safety training; Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) updates; safety program maintenance; OSHA meetings; site audits; and safety program preparation.
Creating a “safety culture” is at the heart of every PSS implementation, in which a customized program is executed through accountability and awareness to prevent unsafe acts. A "safety culture" actually reduces costs and increases profits through the pursuit of zero accidents so that clients can reap the humanitarian and economical generated in a safe workplace. PSS says it will work within every industry looking to implement a safety culture by offering every service necessary for success. On-site visits bring safety professionals into the workplace to ensure the highest safety standards are met and upheld when it is needed most: during shutdowns, on large fast-paced projects, or in place of a full-time safety staff.
