Finch, Pruyn & Co. says that in the 15 months since implementing Rockwell Automation's In.Site Continuous Support service, the Glen Falls, N.Y.-based paper manufacturer has seen a 50-percent reduction in unplanned downtime and a 1-percent efficiency improvement resulting in savings of more than $1 million. With more than half of the company's revenues dependent on a single machine, ensuring maximum production time is critical. Rockwell's support program offers a broadband connection to the machine, whereby off-site engineers continuously compare real-time process variables to predefined operating ranges.
Control Products, a Chanhassen, Minn.-based electronic controls maker, will use Fourth Shift Edition for SAP Business, from SoftBrands, to link plant-floor operations with distribution and finance; and achieve efficiency and productivity gains in manufacturing, materials management, engineering, customer service, and finance.
