Easy data access: IQMS releases new “smart” user interfaces

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 12/16/2008 11:28:00 AM

ERP software vendor IQMS has unveiled a new portal interface that gives users quick access to all of the functionality within the Enterprise IQ ERP suite, as well a window to other key business tools, ranging from email to business intelligence applications.

The new interface, labeled SmartPage for Enterprise IQ, connects seamlessly to the underlying ERP suite to deliver capabilities like fast, single-screen access to all workflow processes and user-defined short cuts to all EnterpriseIQ modules.

The interface will also house an application called SmartSearch that IQMS President Randy Flamm describes as a “Google-type tool” that will allow users to instantly find information stored in the IQMS database or residing in the application suite.

“SmartPage is another example of the innovative ERP solutions IQMS is developing to help its customers stay lean, agile, and competitive,” Flamm says. “EnterpriseIQ already delivers a solid advantage in real-time visibility and control over the manufacturing process. SmartPage takes that a step further by making EnterpriseIQ even faster and easier to navigate so our customers can save time while driving even greater efficiencies across their supply chain.”

Among other features, Flamm says, SmartPage provides unlimited real-time production monitors that give instantaneous shop floor feedback from remote or local business units. Security is also enhanced through single, secured log in functionality, designed specifically for role based programs.  And links to email programs, the Internet and customizable KPIs make switching between programs easy, all from a single screen.

With SmartPage EnterpriseIQ, users can create, save, and share unlimited user roles so employees from the top floor to the shop floor can quickly maximize the benefits of using this single-source system, Flamm says.

With SmartSearch, applications areas such as manufacturing, accounting, document control, SPC, preventative maintenance, CRM, purchases, etc., can have configured search capabilities based on the role of the ERP user.  SmartSearch also provides added flexibility for “fuzzy searching” to account for minor misspellings, and to run automatically when Windows is started. Using key word searches, Smart Search will search the entire EnterpriseIQ ERP database, as well as all document control libraries and internally stored repository libraries.

Both SmartPage and SmartSearch are available to IQMS customers on current maintenance contracts at no extra charge.
