Eder's edge: Lawson enterprise management supports Eder Deutschland growth plans

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 6/13/2008 6:46:00 PM

Eder GmbH Deutschland, which sells, leases, and services agricultural machinery and forklifts, will use Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System to meet strong growth within the Eder group of companies.
Eder’s legacy system could no longer support its requirements, and the company determined that further in-house development of its enterprise software systems would be too expensive. In addition, Eder wanted a solution that offered a new business model for communicating more efficiently with business partners.
Eder selected Lawson for its industry-specific offerings, as well as compatibility with Eder's existing IBM System i platform. Another benefit is the implementation support that Lawson offers through its local partner Terna, based in Germany.
Eder will use M3 in conjunction with other software solutions for CRM, payroll, and operational data collection.
“We were looking for a highly integrated solution that would cover our key business areas,” says Peter Eder, managing partner, Eder GmbH. “We want to optimize synergy internally and improve communications with our partners. Mapping a heterogeneous company network was one of the biggest challenges. With M3, we have a solution that will help us solve this and achieve our set targets.”
