Deacom enhances document management system

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 5/1/2008 4:51:00 PM

The Deacom document linker for Deacom's Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Software System extends the electronic document management system by allowing users to link an unlimited number of transactional documents to their corresponding transactions for easy access in a single ERP system.
Deacom ERP offers a built-in electronic document management system that allows manufacturers to store any electronic files throughout the main ERP system. The document linker builds on that capacity by using bar codes to link documents like delivery tickets and packing lists to their respective transactions.
With the Document Linker, DEACOM users can scan and import mass quantities of bar-coded documents into the ERP system. These documents are automatically linked to their corresponding transactions, such as sales orders or purchase orders, based on the bar-coded information.
"The document linker is another way DEACOM connects companies to the information they need in one central spot," says Paul Heinmiller, implementation specialist for Deacom. "Rather than sort through paper filings or turn to an external document management system to verify that a customer signed off on a delivery or that you received a proper shipment, the document linker allows you to instantly view all linked documents for a given transaction within your ERP system."
