Emerson Process Management is using JPMorgan Chase Vastera's TradeSphere Exporter to support cross-border trade processes for Emerson's Rosemount instrumentation operations in Chanhassen, Minn. During implementation, JPMorgan Chase Vastera managed the classification or assignment of Harmonized Trade Schedule (HTS) codes to the parts used by Emerson to make instrumentation products. Accurate HTS code assignment is critical as it determines how a product is taxed when shipped across borders. Codes are stored in TradeSphere Exporter's centralized database, which automatically populates transaction records and export documentation templates, which curtails shipment delays and optimizes costs.
