Oracle releases PeopleTools upgrade

PeopleTools is the name of the 4GL originally created by PeopleSoft as the tooling for customizing its ERP suite. A new version, Oracle PeopleTools 8.48, adds service-oriented architecture (SOA) compliance with native support of baseline Web services standards such as WSDL, UDDI, WS-Security, BPEL, and WS-Addressing.
A Service Designer offers a wizard for converting and publishing PeopleSoft functions as processes that can be orchestrated, and a new change-impact analyzer allows simulating the running of new PeopleTools customizations, patches, or upgrades before they are committed to production.
