Wireless finds its way to the wrist

By Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 9/1/2006 12:00:00 AM

A wearable wrist computer from Parvus has multiple industry applications, from military and emergency response to logistics and transportation. The ZYPAD WL 1000 is a hands-free computer that enables continuous connectivity using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and global positioning system (GPS) capabilities.

"The WL 1000 enables hands-free operation when scanning packages in shipment," says Roberto Turchi, marketing and sales manager for The EuroTech Group, an Italian computer maker that distributes products in the U.S. through partners like Parvus. "It has integrated GPS so you always know where your driver is, and global connectivity to track movements in real time. It improves the way people work."
