Siemens to acquire IndX Software

Siemens will acquire IndX Software Corp.—the provider of XHQ, an application for real-time operations intelligence—for an undisclosed amount. IndX will become part of Siemens Energy & Automation.
"For the customer, the factory is a bottleneck," says Dietmar Siersdorfer, senior VP of manufacturing execution solutions, Siemens Industrial Solutions & Services (I&S) organization. "He can manage his supply chain and his customer relationships, but with his core asset—the plant—he has to become more flexible and efficient. XHQ provides an excellent platform for visualizing key performance indicators and enabling control of them for greater effectiveness."
Matt Witte, president and CEO of IndX, says Siemens provides his company with the resources it needs to better serve its customers in the hydrocarbon processing, chemicals, and power-generation businesses. He says IndX will continue to focus on those markets, and eventually will pursue opportunities in other vertical markets.
