RedPrairie is integrating its RFID compliance applications with Lawry Computer Products' EPC Encode & Apply system—more specifically, to the conveyor controls software layer developed by Lawry. The integration yields a turnkey RFID "slap-and-ship" solution at the point of distribution, which is considered to be the initial method of compliance.
Label application and coding vendor Videojet is partnering with ID solutions vendor Accu-Sort Systemsto deliver more than 40 installed RFID systems, and a range of RFID tag applicators targeted to meeting RFID compliance mandates. Solutions include mobile tag encoders for manual application, batch tag application on a manufacturing line, and fully integrated tag application systems for a material-handling system.
Swiss and German RFID transponder companies Sokymatand Cubit Electronics have joined. The new Sokymat combines Cubit's expertise in high-frequency transponders with Sokymat's high-volume, low-frequency transponder manufacturing and RFID technology.
Elements of BusinessObjects' business intelligence platform are being combined with Velosel's collaborative product information management system to create, manage, and synchronize product information within the enterprise, with trading partners, and across the supply chain. The solution will address consumer product goods analysis challenges presented by large amounts of data flowing through manufacturing, point-of-sale, distribution, and inventory management systems via global data synchronization and RFID tags.
Finally, bar-code printing vendor SATO America has launched an RFID Business Unit exclusively to assist customers with mandated RFID systems implementations.
