In its July 2008 issue, Manufacturing Business Technology will honor and acclaim instances of IT-based innovation in manufacturing and supply chain industries. Entries will come from manufacturing and supply chain participants, as well as the vendors that provide them with the IT and automation solutions that make innovation possible.
Program categories are as follows:
Product innovation
Best example of an innovative product or solution released in 2007-2008.
Winner will describe an innovative IT, software, or automation-based product solution that has materially contributed to manufacturing or supply chain productivity gain or customer satisfaction.
Entries may come from goods makers or vendors of IT/automation products to the manufacturing and supply chain industries.
Services innovation
Best example of an innovative service that has been introduced in 2007-2008.
Winner will describe an innovative IT, software, or automation-based service solution that has materially contributed to manufacturing and supply chain productivity gain or customer satisfaction.
Entries may come from goods makers or vendors of IT/automation products to the manufacturing and supply chain industries.
Process innovation
Best example of an innovative IT, software, or automation-based process improvement, either in production, enterprise, or supply chain processes.
Winner will describe an innovative IT, software, or automation-based process improvement solution that has materially contributed to manufacturing and supply chain productivity gain or customer satisfaction.
Entries may come from goods makers or vendors of IT/automation products to the manufacturing and supply chain industries.
People-driven innovation
Award will honor an individual who through a unique insight contributed to product, services, or process innovation.
Winner will have through a unique insight contributed to or acted as a champion for improved use of IT, software, or automation-based productivity tools in his or her company or in the delivery of such solutions to the manufacturing or supply chain industries.
Entries may come from goods makers or vendors of IT/automation products to the manufacturing and supply chain industries.
Note: Entries will include the who, what, when, where, and why of innovation leading to productivity gain or customer satisfaction. Entries will include both a narrative and numbers, i.e., evaluations will be on the basis of how a challenge was addressed, the solution that was come upon, and the results that followed, and may include elements such as pertinent management concepts, technology infrastructures, case uses, and product technology.
