Workforce management: Laundry equipment seller cleans up its service operation

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 1/7/2008 11:49:00 AM

Web Service Company, an organization that sells and services laundry equipment to commercial establishments such as apartment complexes, college residence halls, and military bases, says it has streamlined its operations after adopting the Service Workforce Management solution from Servigistics.
Web Service Company is using the Servigistics solution to optimally schedule and route hundreds of field service technicians who service 260,000 washers/dryers across 40,000 locations. It plans to extend use of the application to equipment installation operations. The company says the solution has produced an appreciable increase in productivity.
"In our market, delivering world-class service is a primary competitive differentiator, and Servigistics Workforce Management enables us to outperform the competition," says Chris Hannum, regional VP of operations, Web Service Company. "We are very pleased with the value achieved. Not only have productivity levels dramatically improved, but we've realized a reduction in operating costs."
Says Joe Berti, VP, Service Workforce Management Solution, Servigistics, "Web Service Company's approach to service demonstrates not only its commitment to customers but also a strategic approach to service, where service is a profit center rather than a cost of doing business."
