Smart partnership: Enterprise specialists link forecasting with ERP

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 2/29/2008 12:46:00 PM

A new agreement pairs Smart Software’s statistical forecasting and demand planning capabilities with 3i Infotech’s ERP application suite. This integration will allow users to seamlessly exchange data between ORION Enterprise—3i Infotech’s industry-specific, adaptable ERP suite—and SmartForecasts, a comprehensive demand forecasting, demand planning, and inventory optimization system.
Such interleaving of statistical forecasting and planning capabilities within the tapestry of core ERP applications will extend the reach of users for accessing and applying data for better decision-making.
“Our collaboration with Smart Software will extend the value ORION Enterprise brings to our customers by providing seamless access to specialized demand planning and inventory optimization capabilities,” says Sharad Vajpayee, VP, 3i Infotech. “Achieving this within an integrated workspace will offer both a better user experience and greater data integrity. Simply put, we believe this only reiterates our focus on enabling a more intuitive and effective work environment for our customers.”
With both 3i Infotech and Smart Software serving similar industries such as food & beverage,, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, the partnership mutually leverages the strengths of ORION Enterprise and SmartForecasts in delivering value to end users through the unified platform that addresses industry-specific requirements.
