The newest version of the Supply Chain Council's Supply-Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model includes a greater amount of process analysis for returns, and best practices on collaborative planning for forecasting and replenishment, sales & operations planning, and supplier assessment, as well as supplier carrier agreements. SCOR is a blueprint for best practices in supply chain management.
The second-quarter release coincides with the Pittsburgh-based Council's two new special interest group models developed by member Hewlett-Packard: a customer service model, and a product design and product life-cycle model. They are based on the basic SCOR model of plan-source-make-deliver.
SCOR also recently established its SCOR Advisor Program, which offers SCC accreditation as a SCOR advisor to supply chain professionals who meet established criteria. Says Rick Hoole, practice lead director, supply chain management for consultancy Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath, and an SCC SCORboard member, "SCOR Advisor accreditation should quickly become one of the most prestigious achievable qualifications. These individuals are cross-functional change agents who have proven they can make an impact in their companies, and have contributed to their profession as well."
