Software test drive: Aravo offers free trial of on-demand supplier management solution

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 1/28/2008 9:44:00 AM

Aravo Solutions, a provider of on-demand Supplier Information Management (SIM) software and services, is offering a free 90-day subscription for supplier registration, profiling, validation and approval. The offer allows up to five users within a buyer company to test the product with up to 2,000 suppliers for a period of 90 days.  This allows prospective customers to try out the product before investing in the subscription costs.
Aravo's SIM platform helps companies minimize risk and lowers costs for managing suppliers. The company claims the platform allows users to reap the same efficiency and transparency benefits that CRM systems like Salesforce.com have brought to customer relations.
"We are making Aravo SIM easily available to any global organization that wants to drive new efficiencies in these uncertain times,” says Tim Albinson, Aravo's CEO. “Now every company has the opportunity to update their supplier management infrastructure and best practices. The combined forces of complex and extended supply chains, new government and social compliance issues, and the need to manage and mitigate risk have put Aravo at the forefront of the supplier relationship equation."
Supplier information has recently become a flashpoint for global organizations that need to manage risk, compliance, and efficiencies in their supply chains. Recent headlines and product recalls have made this a boardroom issue with high visibility across the enterprise. While technologies have long been available for managing the transactional supply chain, many of these systems utilize out of date information and reside in multiple silos throughout the organization. This makes supplier relations more complex and driving efficiencies more challenging.
Aravo's SIM is a centralized, on demand framework for enabling and managing supplier information within leading ERP and e-procurement applications such as Oracle, SAP and Ariba. Aravo's newest product module, Aravo Sustain, enables global buying organizations to proactively obtain, analyze, and manage crucial sustainability data, such as supplier and factory regulatory compliance, toxic substances monitoring, carbon foot printing and fair labor practices.
