Production-management partnership revs up automotive DFM

GE Fanuc Automation, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, is teaming up with Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited, to integrate production management and ERP systems.
Areas of business focus and expertise include:
· Communicating production engineering inputs to product design to support design for manufacturability (DFM);
· Driving enterprise operations efficiency to cut down costs;
· Integrating sales and operations planning processes to facilitate faster customer response;
· Focusing on enterprise-level quality processes to enhance customer loyalty;
· Enterprise application offerings across CAD, CAE, PLM, SCM, ERP, and CRM; and
· Manufacturing operations management expertise across shop-floor controllers, HMI/SCADA, MES, and enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI) levels.
