TIBCO Software has announced an addition to its messaging technology, unveiling a new hardware messaging appliance specifically designed to accelerate the capabilities and performance of its Rendezvous software.
TIIBCO Rendezvous that enables the fast transfer of large amounts of data across corporate networks. In the manufacturing sector, Rendezvous is frequently used to transmit data from production control systems to other applications or to move information between trading partners’ supply chain management applications.
According to the company, the TIBCO Messaging Appliance combines hardware and software to offer improved application-to-application, ultra-low latency messaging throughput for mission critical data. It is also said to help organizations reduce the amount of server space required to run the Rendezvous software by a 10 to 1 ratio, cutting data center power use and optimizing space and resource utilization.
This appliance is TIBCO’s first foray into hardware. TIBCO has chosen hardware vendor Solace Systems to act as its manufacturing partner in bringing its new messaging appliance to market. The product is scheduled for release in late calendar year 2008, with pricing to be announced.
Denny Page, chief engineer for TIBCO says, "TIBCO is answering this industry need with a company first: a powerful integrated solution that combines the performance, reliability, and manageability of our Rendezvous software with a cost and energy efficient dedicated hardware messaging appliance. TIBCO Messaging Appliance will provide the improvements in latency and throughput needed to drive increased business responsiveness and competitive advantage."
