Production execution vendor Camstar Systems and quality management supplier Pilgrim Software will integrate their apps to combine corrective-action programs with production systems to quickly adapt manufacturing processes. The vendors predict the combined solution will bring big benefits to manufacturers in heavily regulated industries, such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals. Key to the integration is a shared commitment to Microsoft .NET technologies and Web services as an underlying integration technology.
nMetric has landed eAlliance—a consulting firm with expertise in deploying Oracle's enterprise suite—as a partner for its 4C solution. The companies contend that with 4C, manufacturers can integrate and coordinate scheduling with real-time tracking and updating of all resources, materials, labor, and capacity without investing in a completely new execution system.
Enterprise system vendor SYSPRO has gained 24/7 data protection and recovery capabilities through an alliance with LiveVault, which offers online backup and recovery services for business servers. LiveVault says its solutions are ideal for companies whose servers reside outside of major data centers, and that have primarily relied on cumbersome in-house tape backups to secure data.
