Microsoft and B2B vendor GXS say an alliance between the two will enable integration across organizations' global supply chains using a combination of software and services including BizTalk Server 2006, SQL Server 2005, 2007 Microsoft Office, and GXS Trading Grid.
"B2B solutions that connect trading and business partners must bridge the information worker, developer, and IT professional to deliver a seamless experience for customers. The Microsoft/GXS solution will bring real-time B2B collaboration to businesses nearly anywhere in the world," says Sanjay Parthasarathy, a corporate VP at Microsoft.
The GXS Trading Grid is said used by more than 40,000 customers to exchange goods and services. With its service-oriented architecture-based platform, GXS says it will simplify integration of standards and protocols for users of 2007 Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics enterprise applications.
