Verizon: iPhone Not Coming To Network Soon

NEW YORK (AP) — Comments from Verizon Communications Inc. CEO Ivan Seidenberg leave little room for the possibility of a Verizon version of the iPhone in the near future. Speaking to an investor conference Thursday, Seidenberg said nothing about an iPhone for the company's current network, but said he hopes Apple Inc.

Dell CEO Flashes Android Tablet

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Dell is working on a 7-inch (18-centimeter) tablet that runs Google's Inc.'s Android operating software. Not much else is publicly known about the computer. Dell Inc. CEO Michael Dell flashed it briefly Wednesday at Oracle's annual conference in San Francisco, but offered no hard details.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Cessna Aircraft announced Tuesday it will cut another 700 jobs, saying it has not seen the growth and recovery that it expected this year. Cessna CEO Jack Pelton told workers in an e-mail that the company's performance mirrored the "lackluster economy." "While cancellations have slowed, the recovery and growth we expected to see throughout the year have not materialized, and the timing of any recovery remains uncertain," Pelton wrote.

EU To Comply With Tech Tariff Ruling

GENEVA (AP) — The European Union signaled Tuesday that it was prepared to scrap tariffs on billions dollars (euros) worth of high-tech exports from the United States, Japan and Taiwan, which were ruled illegal by the World Trade Organization last month. Brussels could have filed an appeal by Tuesday's deadline, but said it would instead concentrate on complying with the WTO's decision.
